Program

Our department's program structure is designed to create a win-win strategy, involving one department and one institutes. These components work together to provide a comprehensive education and research environment in the field of mechanical engineering.

  1. Mechanical Engineering Department (Since 1914) Course Timetable for Fall Semester Year 2023

    • Offers bachelor's degree programs.
    • Currently has more than 40 staff members and 300 students.
    • Educational Goals:
      • Nourishing professional engineers with expertise in both theoretical and practical aspects of mechanical engineering.
      • Providing training in foreign languages, liberal arts, and law to create well-rounded individuals for the industrial sector.
      • Enhancing research skills and the ability to develop new technologies for industry.
    • Offers 4-year bachelor's degree programs with a focus on foundational courses. Students receive a solid education in both theoretical and practical aspects of mechanical engineering.
    • Junior students are required to take all relevant courses to establish a strong foundation for advanced studies.
    • Senior students have more flexibility in course selection to tailor their education to their career goals.
    • Offers special "academic programs" that are objective-oriented and multidisciplinary, including mechatronic engineering, precision manufacturing, innovation design, and fluid and thermal programs. Upon completion of these programs, students receive certificates to enhance their job prospects.
    • Actively engages in research and development across various mechanical engineering fields. Research areas align with the needs of Taiwanese industry, with support from government agencies, private enterprises, and alumni.
    • Maintains advanced laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities for specific research purposes.
    • Seeks collaborations with universities and industry partners to meet challenges and maintain leadership in the mechanical engineering field.
  2. Institute of Mechatronic Engineering (Since 1996) Course Timetable for Fall Semester Year 2023

    • Offers master's and doctoral degree programs.
    • Research areas:
      1. Mechatronic Technology: Integration of mechanics, electronics, sensors, actuators, and controllers, machine vision, image processing, optical inspection, and interactive recreational equipment design.
      2. MEAMS: Microsensor and microactuator technology, optoelectronic measurement, microthermal and fluid systems, RF communication IC design, micro molding, and injection.
      3. Precision Machinery: Precision mechanisms, transmission systems, vibration and noise control, and rapid prototyping.
      4. Semiconductor Technology and BioTech: Semiconductor device design, IC manufacturing, DNA, protein, and biochip design.
      5. Thin Film and Nanotechnology: Thin film coating, nano-materials, silicon device design, MEMS technology, and nano metrology.
