Recent Advances in Nanotechnology-Enabled RF Devices, Circuits and Antennas for Internet-of-Things
物聯網中奈米技術啟用的射頻設備、電路和天線的最新進展
5G is the next generation of radio systems and network architecture that delivers ultra-wideband, ultra-robust, low latency connectivity, and massive networking for the Internet of Things. The development of 5G hardware and system faces several new challenges, such as increasing design complexity due to ultra-wideband operation, reconfigurable and cost-effective antenna arrays for base stations and subsystems, indoor wireless communications containing a large number of co-channel access points, and seamless integration of sensing and communication in the same system (for example, autonomous vehicles with radar sensors and 5G connectivity). Modeling, computational simulations and visualizations prior to design and prototyping of key components in the 5G ecosystem, such as beamforming antennas, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) and massive-MIMO arrays, have become indispensable. This short course will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art design, modeling, and optimization tools for solving complex and challenging electromagnetic problems and 5G antenna development. The practical implementation and applications of 5G will also be discussed.
